This cartridge is loaded with a 115 grain full metal jacket flat nose projectile, and the noncorrosive Boxer primer and propellant that FMJ FN needs to achieve 1,320 fps muzzle velocity in conjunction with a 4” barrel. That’s fast – the reason why its trajectory is a little flatter and its recoil is a little bitier.
Winchester doesn’t designate this ammo as 9mm +P, but you ought to treat it like overpressure just to be safe. That just means only firing it in modern pistols and carbines that are rated for 9mm +P ammo.
This ammo’s loaded with Winchester’s usual target-grade cases: brass, new and reloadable. The nonmagnetic bullet’s flat nose profile doesn’t turn it into a wadcutter; even so, it has a tendency to cut a tidier hole through a sheet of paper – such as one that has a bullseye printed on it.
This ammo is not old military surplus. It was produced specifically for the commercial market.
