Description
7/21/22 – This is a great Winchester Model 1917 rifled from 1918. Winchester marked receiver and barrel, with some ‘E’ proofs on small parts and the bolt handle. The receiver has a nice original blue finish, with minor finish loss. There are some non-textured scratches along the left sight leaf and a small patch of pitting in the same location. The left wall of the receiver has minor finish loss from use/ rub wear. The barrel is dated June of 1918. The stock is original with handling wear throughout. There are a few digs into the wood near the trigger on the right side, and divots on the underside of the wrist. The rifle comes with a period-correct sling that is in good condition, but has signs of wear throughout and a few small areas of cracking. The sling is maker-marked and dated “P.B. & Co. 1918”. The bore has strong rifling and would make an excellent shooter.
