5/17/22 – This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Pre-Victory revolver that was part of the British/Australian Lend-Lease Program during WW2 – issued to the British or Australian military. It ended up at the Lithgow arsenal in Australia in 1955 where it was reworked. It is all matching and marked “Made in USA”. There is a “Rebored in Australia” marking and an “FTR MA 55” marking on the right side of the frame, which indicates the rework at the Lithgow arsenal. The gun has retained about 96% of its parkerized finish. Minor muzzle wear, light wear on some of the high edges, light roll mark on the cylinder, and some light scratchy wear along the barrel. Comes with nice period-correct wood grips. The right panel is numbered but does not match. There is minor bruising throughout and a small chip in the bottom corner of the left panel. The bore is shiny with strong rifling and some minor fouling in the grooves.
