4/1/22 – This is a matching and original Army S&W Model 1917 revolver from the end of the Great War.The original blue rates at 90+% with most of the wear on either side of the barrel.There is also a small gouge mark on the right side of the barrel, and some pitting on the left.Rear grip strap also has a little bluing loss.Flaming bomb on frame with “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” marked barrel.Good mechanics.Each grip panel has a small chip.The bore has good rifling but there is a large, deep gouge in the barrel and we aren’t sure what could’ve caused it.Also not certain how it would impact the shootability of this revolver.
