Description
9/20/22 – This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi police force in 1943. It is all matching and has a police “Eagle L” marking on the right side of the slide. This variation is rare as only about 900 first variations were issued, and only ~1,500 with ‘byf 43’ slide legend. It has retained about 93% of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap. There is muzzle wear and some very minor wear concentrated around the high edges of the slide. An area of minor wear at the front of the right side of the slide. Very minor thinning along the barrel. Comes with excellent period-correct grips and a “P.38v” magazine. Excellent bore with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional. The hold-open does not lock back automatically.
