11/8/22 – This is a minty example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, “United States Property” marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and “Eagle Head S2” military acceptance proofs. It has retained about 97% of its original high polish finish. There is minor muzzle wear, light roll mark on the cylinder, hints of wear on some of the high edges, and a few tiny scratches on both grip straps. Excellent case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Comes with excellent period-correct wood grips. The bore has good rifling with very minor pin-pricking in the grooves. The cylinder is tight, and the action is very smooth.
