Description
6/30/22 – This is an original 1941 dated K98 bayonet with the original matching numbered scabbard, and an excellent 1940 dated leather frog. The bayonet blade is in minty condition with beautiful original bluing and a 3 digit serial number stamped on one side. The reverse is maker stamped and dated. There’s some mild patina and finish loss throughout the hilt but no rust or pitting. The scabbard has some mild surface wear and thinning, but no major issues nor any dents. The frog is an excellent example with clean leather and stitching, and some mild surface patina on the rivets. The maker stamp on the back leather is a strong, crisp strike. Overall a very clean, excellent example.
