7/5/22 – This is an excellent example of a WW2 Japanese Army Officer’s Sword with a factory-made blade. The blade tang has a signature and small factory stamp, as shown. The signature style and factory stamp both indicate this blade being factory made to replicate the traditional Japanese style. The blade is very clean with some very mild patina in a few small spots. Nice tempered edge and no significant flaws along the edge. Comes with original fittings, handle, and suba all in good condition. There’s some typical signs of aging and mild use wear but no major issues. The hand guard (suba) is slightly loose, but this is common. The scabbard is in great condition with some mild wear and discoloration but no major flaws. An excellent, straightforward example of a WW2 factory Officer’s blade.
