12/22/22 – This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these wer made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45’s. This one is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” proofs. It has retained about 95% of its original finish. There is minor thinning on the front strap and minor wear around the muzzle and front edges of the slide. Comes with excellent grips and a proper wartime Mauser magazine. Very nice bore – strong rifling with freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional.
