Description
12/21/22 – This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911A1 manufactured in 1944. It is all-correct, has the proper “United States Property” marking, and the proper US military cross-canon cartouche. This one, however, has British proofs throughout, indicating it was part of the WW2 British Lend-Lease Program. Proper Colt .45 Auto barrel. It has retained about 97% of its original parkerized finish. There is just some minor wear on the front grip strap. While there is very little actual finish loss, there are tiny dots of splotchy discoloration on both sides of the slide – most noticeable near the muzzle end. Comes with excellent period-correct grips and a proper WW2-era “S” marked magazine. Mint bore.
