7/27/22 – This is an original Colt Detective Special revolver with documentation showing it was issued direct from Colt to U.S. Secret Service Agent Joseph Kovalchick in 1967.The revolver was produced in ~1956 and original Colt archive records show it shipped to a private buyer, but somehow ended up back with Colt’s firearms division and sold/transferred to active Secret Service agent.The gun is all original with maybe 85% blue remaining, as it was likely carried often and in a holster.Minty bore.Grips show minor smoothing.A grip extension is included, as is a mismatched Colt box.
