12/20/22 – This is a fairly rare Kongsberg Model 1914 that was manufactured in 1947, following the defeat and removal of the German forces. There were only about 2,300 pistols completed after the war, all from remaining parts, so it’s very common to see partial overstamps on serial numbers from guns completed after the Nazi occupation. This gun is all matching except for the barrel (numbered 596). It comes in a nice custom-made wood presentation case. It has retained roughly 75% of its finish. The finish is generally quite thin throughout and there is some minor wear concentrated around the high edges. Some patina on the grip straps. Fitted with very nice period-correct wood grips and comes with one magazine (the lanyard loop on the bottom has been removed). Near-mint bore. The slide does not lock back automatically with this magazine. Included with the gun is an article clipping from a magazine that details the history of these guns.
