3/24/22 – This is a very nice example of a Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The gun is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” Nazi military acceptance proofs throughout. The slide has a characteristic “dust-blue” finish. It is, however, slightly discolored from age. The gun has retained about 91-92% of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap, where there is also spotty oxidation. There is minor wear around the muzzle and around the high edges of the slide. There is some streaky dark discoloration and very minor pin-pricking on the left side of the slide. Comes with a set of reddish period-correct bakelite grips and an “Eagle 135” marked Mauser magazine. The bore is shiny with strong rifling and some minor freckling here and there. De-cocker is functional.
