8/26/22 – This is a beautiful example of a rare, early Mauser Model 1910 sold in the commercial market between 1911-13. This gun is an early “side latch” model. It is all matching and has the proper “Crown U” commercial proofs. This one is unique because it has a “Von Lengerke & Detmold. New-York.” private retailer marking on the right side of the slide, indicating it was sent to the US for resale in the retail market. Although it is all matching, the barrel has a unique almost phosphate finish – likely a special order. The gun has retained virtually all of its original finish. There are just a few tiny scratches on the right side of the gun and a few small dots of discoloration on the extractor. Comes with an excellent period-correct wood grip and a nickeled magazine. The bore has strong rifling with some very light pin-pricking throughout.
