11/8/22 – This an AC 43 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 359” military acceptance proofs throughout. There is an “asterisk” marking on the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair – desirable for some collectors. The gun has been refinished and has retained about 70% of its new bluing. There is not a ton of actual finish loss, but there are areas of splotchy discoloration and spotty oxidation throughout. Areas of pitting at the front left and back right of the slide. Comes with nice blackish-brown bakelite grips and an “Eagle 359” marked Walther magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout. De-cocker is functional.
