Description
8/5/22 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield Armory M1 Garand from 1944. The receiver is dated to October 1944 and the barrel is dated to June 1944. There are original Springfield parts throughout the rifle other than the gas cylinder which has a “W” marking. The original finish is in nice condition with handling wear throughout and some finish loss/thinning here and there mostly on the gas cylinder. The wooden stock is in nice condition with handling wear throughout. There is a “perif p in circle” cartouche on the wrist and on the left side there are a very faint “SA GAW” and cross-canon cartouche. The bore has good rifling but a small ding near the muzzle and some minor frosting throughout.
