11/4/22 – This is an excellent example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” Nazi military acceptance proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with a nice 1944-dated holster, one period-correct “Waffen 135” marked magazine, and one post-war magazine. The finish on the gun is dark throughout, so believe it has a “Russian Dipped” finish. In any case, it has retained virtually all of its finish with just some light freckling along the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent brownish-black bakelite grips. Excellent bore with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional.
