Description
4/26/22 – This is a nice example of an Ithaca Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1944. It is “United States Property” marked, has the proper “FJA” inspection initials, and has a cross-canon military cartouche on the left side of the frame. The barrel was made by Flannery. This particular gun has retained roughly 65% of its parkerized finish. There are areas of thinning throughout, most noticeable on both sides of the slide. Minor wear on the high edges in general and around the muzzle. A few tiny dots of oxidation here and there. Comes with excellent period-correct plastic grips and a period-correct “L” marked magazine. Very nice bore with strong rifling and just hints of frosting in the grooves.
