8/9/22 – This is a nice example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1937. The frame is mismatched to the rest of the gun. The rest of the gun matches itself except for the hold open. It has the proper “Eagle 63” Nazi military acceptance proofs. This gun eventually ended up with the VoPo or East German police force, as evidence by its dark “dipped” finish, renumbered Simson-proofed side plate, post-war VoPo plastic grips, and post-war magazine. There is thinning on both grip straps, some light pin-pricking on the right side of the slide, and some light handling marks here and there. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pitting throughout.
