11/21/22 -This is a nice example of the desirable Colt Model 1902 pistol, that was manufactured in 1916 for issue to the US military. The military model can be distinguished by the rectangular shape to the frame, and the additional cartridge capacity in their magazines. This model was chambered for .38 ACP, and is very similar in design to the innovative M1900. This one has retained roughly 70% of its original finish. There is obvious wear along both sides of the slide and on both grip straps. Areas of spotty oxidation throughout and some minor pitting around the muzzle. Comes with nice black grips (hairline cracks on both sides around the top screws) and one period-correct magazine. The rifling in the bore is good, but there is minor pin-pricking throughout.
