Description
10/7/22 – This is an Amberg Gewehr 98 issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. It has the proper Imperial military proofs throughout. It is mostly matching, except for the stock and a couple of screws in the floor plate. Overall, the gun is in fair condition, but there is heavy brown patina and oxidation covering all of the metal parts. The stock is Imperial-proofed and numbered but mismatched. There is no major damage, but there are noticeable dings, dents, and scratches throughout. Some more obvious gouges just behind the action and a hairline crack on the left side near the trigger guard. The bore has decent rifling, but there is oxidation throughout.
