Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent original German WWII Mid-War StyleNational Socialist Party Armband, issued to the German Sturbabteilung, and then broughthome bya U.S.G.I. after the war.The Sturmabteilung (Storm Detachment), often known as the “Brownshirts”, were NSDAP Party’s original paramilitary organization, and played a significant role in Adolf AH’s rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s.
This standard armbandis the same as those issued to the regular NSDAP membership, however this one is clearly marked for the SA on the inside with a rectangular stamp in German “Black Letter” typeface:
Eigentum derSA. der N.S.D.A.POberste SA-Führung
This basically translates to “Property of the SA. of the N.S.D.A.P. Supreme SA leadership”, and there is also a small black tag unit marking sewn on that reads 50 / 34. This tag does not go through to the other side, so it was either put on before the emblem, or it was expertly sewn on from the back.
The armband is in lovelybarely used condition, though it does have storage wearand some additional holes added across the bottom, possibly to add a rank border, or where it was sewn to a uniform. It measures approximately 15 1/2″ x 4 1/2″,and has never had the ends sewn together.It is of multi-piece construction, unlike later variants, which were printed onto the armband. The Swas (Swas) is made from two pieces of cloth, folded and sewn to the white background, which is a separate piece as well.This is sewn to the standard red background.
The inside still features the originalRZM tagwhich is still lightly attached. The tag features theRZMlogo as well as the ink stampedlotNo. 058601.Their is a hersteller (supplier) No. field, but it is not filled out.
Condition is great, with just a few small holes, and light staining. Ready to display!
