Description
Not all soft point bullets are created equal. When you take this 30-06 ammunition by Hornady on your hunt, you’ll be hunting with the power of the InterLock!
This round’s 180 grain bullet provides terminal expansion in the same fashion as any other soft point: resistance from soft tissue forces the exposed lead tip to mushroom outward, tracking a wider and deadlier wound channel behind it in the process. The InterLock’s tapered jacket controls uniform expansion over a wide range of velocities. Its signature InterLock ring and cannelure embed the bullet’s jacket to its one-piece core in two places, which assures it retains the mass and momentum it needs to tunnel deeply into the quarry.
The InterLock is also an accurate bullet with a streamlined secant ogive profile. Its 2,700 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel gives the projectile a 0.452 G1 ballistic coefficient. That means it overcomes air resistance effectively enough to hug a predictable trajectory until it becomes subsonic at 1,056 yards. The InterLock conserves enough in-flight momentum to arrive at 416 yards with 1,500 ft lbs of energy, and then 647 with 1,000 ft lbs of energy.
Hornady’s American Whitetail line of ammunition features the Nebraskan manufacturer’s premium brass cases, primers and propellant in addition to their top-of-the-line InterLock soft points.
