The HK-authorized rimfire MP5, built under license by Umarex of Germany. A 16.1 inch barrel, .22 LR, 25+1, 7 pounds, on a retractable stock that puts overall length between 26.4 and 32.3 inches.
Built to the MP5 pattern and blowback operated. The controls, silhouette, charging handle, stock, and manual of arms carry over from the centerfire guns, including the HK slap.
That makes it a working sub-caliber trainer. Rimfire costs a fraction of 9mm, so the same weapon handling drills run at a sustainable round count. Transitions, reloads, safety manipulation, and presentation are identical to an MP5 or SP5.
The 16.1 inch barrel and telescoping stock put it in the standard rifle category with no NFA paperwork.
Sights are a diopter drum rear with an adjustable front post, the same arrangement as the centerfire guns. Single-stage trigger. Ambidextrous safety selector.
The muzzle carries a faux suppressor, a cosmetic shroud rather than a functioning suppressor.
