Description
With a passe-vite, also called a food mill you can grind and mash semi- hard foods. In an instance you can make jam, compote, sauce, soup, and puree. Gefu’s flotte lotte comes with different discs to process fruits and vegetables in many different ways. In addition, a 2 mm grating disc is included you can use to grate leek, asparagus and other vegetables. Furthermore this practical device comes with a 3 mm disc to puree vegetables and fruit to turn them into compotes. A scraper rotates in the bowl and prevents the accumulation of food on the sides. As such the product in the passe-vite is chopped evenly. The 2 litre bowl is made from stainless steel and all parts can afterwards be cleaned by hand or in the dishwasher.
Using the passe-vite
The passe-vite is comprised of a bowl with a strainer attached to the base. The inside of the bowl has been enhanced with the rotating mechanism which pushes the contents of the bowl through the strainer which has been attached with two mounting clamps. All you have to do is add the ingredients to the bowl and start rotating the handle to push the ingredients through the strainer. An added bonus is that, unlike a hand mixer or blender, you do not need electricity.
