Each cartridge in this case fires a 40-grain lead round nose bullet at a muzzle velocity of 1,070 feet per second. This is “standard velocity” ammo which is inherently subsonic and delivers consistent trajectories. Standard velocity ammo is also a good choice for use with suppressed firearms, as the bullet does not cross the sound barrier and produce the cracking noise that suppressors cannot mitigate. Using standard velocity ammo with a silencer/suppressor results in optimal overall noise reduction.
