Winchester loads these plinkers and target punchers with 55 grain full metal jacket projectiles. (That’s essentially all the M193 designation stands for.) Each bullet possesses a lead core with a gilding metal jacket, the latter of which wears a cannelure around its midsection to prevent setback in the mag. These are American-made bullets, and as such their jackets don’t contain steel and can’t draw a magnet.
This ammo’s brass cases weren’t previously reloaded. They’re grayish around their shoulders because Winchester didn’t buff out the discoloration that results from the factory annealing process. Each case is reloadable once its noncorrosive Boxer primer and temperature stable propellant charge have gone bang.
