Sometimes it’s good to be small. This diminutive 12 Gauge shotshell from Aguila’s Minishell line of ammunition is only 1 3/4” long, which means almost twice as many of them can fit in a tubular magazine. If you keep a pump action tucked away for middle of the night home defense, you’ll appreciate having that many more shots to work with.
This shell is loaded with seven pellets of 4 buck and four pellets of 7 buck. Together they’ll give you a versatile and effective spread, and having enough of them to clear out a room could come in handy. This shell is a better choice than one loaded with double-aught if you live where you have to consider your neighbors’ safety — 4 and 1 are less likely to penetrate through multiple wallboards. This shell’s light 5/8 ounce load also gives it relatively little kick, leaving you better able to line up your next shot.
